I met Lynette on Twitter (sense a pattern here?) and one of the things I absolutely love about her is that she is a woman with definite opinions, and she's not someone who's easily influenced or impressed, yet at the same time, she can rhapsodize over a book she really enjoyed. Because I am someone who's easily pleased, I really respect and envy people like Lynette who have more discriminating tastes, and still post Tuesday Treats ;)
Stacy: Feel free to tell us about yourself: name, background, etc. Are you a reader/blogger/writer?
Hi. My name is is Lynette. I've been an avid romance reader since I was eleven years old and my cousin returned from her freshman year of college and brought back her roommate. Her roommate was reading Jude Deveraux's Velvet Series at the time. She had just finished Velvet Angel and saw me sitting on the steps to my cousins' house watching the other kids play bored out of my mind. She knew I was a big reader (if the big coke bottle glasses didn't give me away - LOL) She handed me the book. I've never looked back. After that I borrowed the first three books of the series from her (although I'm probably showing my age, Velvet Angel had recently been released) and never looked back.

I've always had a passion for writing romance as well as reading it, but I didn't get series until I left the Army and joined a local RWA chapter. Since then I've been honing my skills. So I'm an avid reader/writer. My favorite genres are historicals, contemporaries, romantic suspense and erotica, though I've recently discovered some awesome YA writers that I've become addicted to like Sarah Dessen and Maggie Stiefvater.
Do you have a blog? What is the name/link and how would you describe your blog?
Yes I do have a blog. It's called Lynette's Two Cents. I started my blog because I'm very opinionated and I found that my take on books are often vastly different than my fellow book lovers especially on popular paranormal series. So, instead of arguing my differing opinion over the internet I figured I start my own blog where I'd have my say! LOL! My focus is on romance reviews although I occasionally pimp out my kids or ramble on about something that's on my mind. But it's mostly focused on reviews.
What book(s) are you currently reading? Would you recommend it?
In my purse at this moment is Wild Rain by Christine Feehan. I also have several books on ShaNayNay (aka my Kindle). But right now I'm reading Wild Rain. Christine Feehan is a guilty pleasure. It's like you know you shouldn't be enjoying her books but you can't seem to help yourself. Reading Christine Feehan's novels gives me the same reaction I had reading the Twilight Series. I know better but I can't seem to help myself. The majority of Christine Feehan's heroines are all impossibly virgins, passive individuals, with "too stupid to live" moments, who come to life once they meet the majorily Alpha Dog/Panther/Vampire of their dreams who controls them by some major smexing.
What is your most anticipated soon to be released book?
I actually just finished one of the books that I've been hot for. It's Insatiable by Lauren Dane. I'm also looking forward to her next release Inside Out. And of course, I'm looking forward to Linger by Maggie Stiefvater (can't spell her name for anything) and Dark Peril by Christine Feehan. I'm sure theirs more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.
What's playing nonstop on your iPod rotation right now?
I believe I'm the only person in the known universe who does not own an iPod or an MP3 player!

What are your favorite places to visit online?
My favorite blogs are Wendy the Super Librarian ; Leontine's Book Realm ; and Pearl's World of Romance . Of course I visit more, but if I had a top three those would be it. I love the diversity of these blogs since most seem to be strictly paranormal and urban fantasy and I read so much more than that. [ALL fabulous blogs, IMO!]
What are some of your favorite things: beverage? food? t.v. show?
Hmm. I don't have a life. LOL! I work full time and when I get home I'm spending time with the kidlets and am often forced to watch Sprout, Nick Jr. and things like that when I watch TV. I do love So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, Ace of Cakes, Iron Chef America, Cupcake Wars. Things like that. I think in a previous life I must have been a cook or something. As far as drinks. I love Sweet Tea. It annoys the heck out of me that since my husband kidnapped me and moved me away from the south, I'm now forced to go into restaurants and have waiters look at me as if I'm crazy when I tell them that no, it's not the same dumping sugar in nasty unsweetened ice tea. In the south, they get it and Sweet Tea is standard. I miss that. Food, I love, love, love homemade bread. I have a habit of making a couple loaves over the weekend and eating like it's candy!
Which hottie out there is to die for?

I'm a goober. I don't have crushes on celebrities or things like that. If I think someone is good looking, I discover something about their personality that turns me off. For me it has to be the total package. I'd rather have someone treat me like a Queen than look like a King! [Oh, I love that!]
Favorite restaurant?
My favorite restaurant right now is this small Italian place by where I work. It serves awesome food that's not too expensive.
What is your idea of a romantic gesture from your sweetie?
LOL. Yeah right! Seriously, it had to be when he brought me my Kindle. It was awesome because I wasn't expecting it and I knew it wasn't in the budget at the moment, but he wanted to do something nice for me. That's the big money thing, but he also does little stuff that REALLY matters like I come home and the refrigerator is spotless or all the carpets in house have been professionally steam cleaned. That's the stuff that really turns me on! LOL!
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Hmm hard question. I'm drawing a blank because I tend to be an open book. If I answered it, it wouldn't be a surprise would it?

Thank you Lynette, for being here today! It's fun so much fun :) And I was also a huge fan of Deveraux back in the day - couldn't get enough of those Taggarts & Montgomerys ;)
