Happy anniversary to me :)
Today signifies my 1-year blog anniversary, and what a year it has been: meeting new friends, discovering new books, interviewing some wonderful authors, and sharing my (crazy) thoughts with you all.
I've thought a little about what I'd like to do this year, and what not to do. Haven't made any definite decisions about things yet, but there will be changes. I still plan on doing contests, and hopefully the author interviews will continue as well. I definitely want to have fun here, and make it fun for people to stop by. There may be moments of seriousness, too. As much as I love books, movies and hotties, there are other strong issues close to my heart that I am going to want to talk about.
So now it's a brand-new year and there's lots to look forward to. There are some reader/writer events going on that I hope to attend: Lori Foster's get-together in June, RWA in July. Possibly a trip to Spain sometime this year if I can afford it (and if I get my passport).
I'm becoming a firm believer in N.O.W. (No Opportunity Wasted) however my paycheck won't always be able to accommodate my plans *g* Luckily not every opportunity involves money. There's a whole, freakin' big world out there to explore, and some of it is even for free.
What are you looking forward to in the New Year?
Any big plans for 2007?

  1. Happy Anniversary Stacy and Happy New Year

  2. Happy Anniversary, Stacy!! Wow! What an accomplishment. I'm so happy for you. :o)

My big plan begins next week. I'm going to college. I've never been and my hubby and I have decided that now is as good a time as ever. I'm so excited.
But that's pretty much all I'm going to be able to afford to do, not to mention time wise do for the next who knows how many years... :o)

  3. Happy blogiversary! And good luck with your goals.

  4. Happy New Year Stacy!

I also plan to travel this year if the budget allows. Other than that, my plans for this year involve getting organized and working on some unfinished stuff in my basement!

Hope your travel plans to Spain work out. That would be an awesome trip!

  5. Happy blogiversary, Stacy! I hope your trip to Spain comes through. It would be an awesome trip!

  6. Liz: thank you for stopping by. HNY to you too :)

Julie: I am so proud of you - now that is a worthy goal. I know you'll do great. We'll be here for ya

Marg: thank you. They're not much right now, but I figured I'd start small. Makes it less overwhelming.

Jen! Always good to see you. And good luck with your goals. Organization is one of my "challenges" LOL

Devonna: Thank you for always being so supportive. Your blog is one of my faves because I always come away with a new perspective. Love your promises. Happy New Year.

  7. Thanks, Stacy. I may take you up on that. How's your Algebra? :P

  8. Happy Anniversary Stacy! Mine is coming up soon I think. I'll have to look:)

As for my plans, my biggest goal is to get a full-time community college teaching job by the Fall 2007 semester. It'll mean a lot of applications (and hopefully interviews as well) this winter and spring, but it will be well worth it.

And Julie, if you need help with Algebra, let me know. I'm actually teaching an 8 week basic algebra course this semester (starting in March) at a local community college:)

  9. Happy anniversary Stacy!!

It sounds like you have great plans in motion for this coming year. Kudos to you babe. :)

Ooh and Spain? How lovely!! My friend just came back from being overseas for a year..and she absolutely LOVED her experience in Spain! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

As for myself, I want to make sure I graduate this year. And I'm hoping I can squeeze in a trip back to the US in July. It's still a huge maybe, but I'm hoping. *grin*

  10. Julie, yeah, let Michelle teach you Algebra - she's the expert. I'm clueless.

Grace, good luck with graduating, and I hope you make it to the states. RWA in Dallas, or something totally different?

  11. Happy day late Blog anniversary! Isn't it amazing how fast a year can go? My big thing I want to do is go to the RT convention in April. It's in Texas which is pretty darn far from where I'm at and I haven't flown in a Very Long Time. I have to find someone I know that's going though. I went to one a few years ago that was held in Toronto and the experience of meeting authors and fellow romance lovers was just incredible.

  12. Happy anniversary and Happy New Year both! Really enjoy having you at my blog!

  13. Happy anniversary!!!!

I love the NOW thing. Thats great. My goal for the New Year is to lose weight, finish my book, and to make it to some fun events this summer!!

  14. HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!

  15. Awww Happy Anniversary Stacy!

I'm so glad that I stumbled along your blog last year, this is such a good place to wile away the hours at work and at home, you're a good blogger, keep up the good work sweets and I look forward to whatever you have in mind for this year!

As for me, only boring resolutions for me...

  16. Kristie: I've never been to RT, but I hear it's a lot of fun. RWA is in Texas this year too. I can't do both. I hope you get to go and have a blast :)

Jill: hey thanx. I love your blog - it's fun and friendly and highly entertaining. I'm glad Laurie or JudyF showed me the way LOL

Kelley: Isn't NOW kinda fun? I can't wait to read "Getting Lucky With Luciano" - the bits of story you're sharing are killing me!

Mailyn: it's always a treat to have you stop by. Thanx hon.

Dylan, or should I call you Rowena now? You are such a sweetie yourself, and now you're making me challenge myself, but hey that's a good thing!

  17. Hey Stacy, I'm late to the party, but Happy Blogiversary!! And Happy New Year!

My big plans involve reducing my tbr. That's about it. LOL

  18. Thanks Stacy! I hope so too!

As for the July plans..I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to Dallas. Thus far, I already have about 6 states that are a MUST see, so I'm not sure if I can swing Dallas. But I would LOVE to!! I'd love the chance to meet so many authors. Even just seeing Dallas itself would be exciting!
