My Nathan....
Me from the 2nd annual Lori Foster event
As you can see I'm not very photogenic or camera-friendly, but here's one that is halfway decent I thought I'd share. I'm holding the basket I made for the raffle drawing. It's so much fun to put these together. One of my favorite things about the event.
Next up, questions. You know I love my questions, and so I'll only ask four of them. And instead of asking about myself, which is rather predictable, I'll ask them about you, so that way it's not just a copy and paste post.
1. What movie that you've seen in the last year would you recommend?
2. Current favorite song. Not artist. I want a SONG. Please be specific*
3. What was one of your favorite books of 2009? Who wrote it? (*same as #2)
4. What's one of your favorite addictions? Twitter, iPhone, etc. I'd love to know *g*
Contest rules: Contest will end @ noon CST on Sunday, January 3, 2010 and will be announced within 24 hours. All questions must be answered to qualify. Contest is open to all, as long as they can receive mail (or the equivalent gift - not sure about purchasing international giftcards but I'll figure something out). Please do not leave your email address in your post. Winners are responsible for contacting me.
So happy anniversary to me! Thank you ALL for being a part of my little place on earth. I've met so many new people over these past 4 years. Some have moved on (I miss Mailyn!), others are still around. Each one has been a blessing :) And I especially want to thank the amazing bookpimps out there (you know who you are!) for being me some of the best book suggestions I could ask for. Love you guys, srsly. Hope to know you for at least another 4 years.
Good luck & Happy New Year!!!!

1. What movie that you've seen in the last year would you recommend?

Reading my romance novels is definitely my favorite addiction! And I do call it an addiction because I feel myself getting nervous when I am close to finishing a book and I don't have anything else to read next! by Unknown 12:32 PM, December 30, 20091) Michael Jackson - This is It. Simply because it was such a fascinating behind the scenes look at his work. You don't have to enter me, but let me see... hmmm...
1) The newest Star Trek where you see the characters in the past. Fun!
2) I've been listening to Christmas nonstop... so I'll say "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey.
3) I read 99% fiction, but because I have always been interested in the Kennedys, I bought True Compass by Edward Kennedy. It was a fascinating, intimate portrait of his life and what it meant to grow up in that environment. There was some political stuff in there, of course, but what I enjoyed most was hearing him talk about people who were family to him but famous people to most of us. Very well written!
4) I love Facebook, though my time is limited. I Twitter some, but not as much as FB. Does chocolate count as an addiction??? :)
Congrats on your 1,000th posts!!
by Judy 1:54 PM, December 30, 20091. What movie that you've seen in the last year you would recommend.

4. Facebook
Stacy congratulations on 4 years of blogging. Here's to many more.
by Barbara 2:18 PM, December 30, 2009As to the questions:
1 Movie I would reccomend---the latest is Up In The Air....very interesting look into the lives of the characters in this one and George Clooney is in it. Many movies that get Oscar buzz and nominations I just don't get the attraction to them but this one I get.
2. Song I am currently hooked on. Two come to mind "Cryin' For You" by Toby Keith...this is his tribute to his friend Waymon Tisdale who died earlier this year....but when I hear it I think of a couple of people who are dear to me that have passed on. Second song is "Sara Smile" a remake of the classic 70's sony by Jimmy Wayne and he even got Hall and Oats to sing backup.
3. Favorite book of the year. This is tough because I have read a lot of good books this year but I would say the trilogy of Black CAT books by Leslie Parrish, Fade To Black, Pitch Black and Black At Heart. All three were wonderful and I think these are the kind of books this author was meant to write.
4 Latest addiction is watching whole series of tv shows on DVD. Right now I am on the 1st season of Law and Order Criminal Intent and the 3rd season of Bones.
Hope to see you in blogville for many more years Stacy.

I really want to see Sherlock Holmes, but I haven't seen it yet so to answer your first question I think I would have to recommend The Proposal with Sandra Bullock. Yes it was predictable, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
It's funny that you should ask about my current favorite song. It's actually one I rediscovered last week while putting together fav Christmas songs. It is Sweet Surrendy by Sarah McLachlan from the Fumbling Towards Ecstasy CD. I forgot how much I love love love it even though it is so old now.
Hands down my favorite book is Deeper by Megan Hart, followed closely by Laid Bare by Lauren Dane. I discovered both of these authors this year, in addition to Jaci Burton's Wild Riders series (especially Riding Temptation)....asking about my favorite book quickly becomes books...how can I possibly choose just one?
My favorite addiction this year...blogging. Can't tell you how many hours I have spent blogging this year, and I have enjoyed each and every one immensely!
Happy Blogiversay!! Isn't it amazing how fast time goes! And isn't it also amazing - and wonderful - how close we can feel to other bloggers - people who we might never meet in RL are just important as people in our every day life.

by limecello 9:00 AM, December 31, 2009As for your questions...
1. What movie that you've seen in the last year would you recommend?
Hands down, The Blind Side. I've loved "the Michael Oher" story when I first heard about him in the fall of 2006. The NYT article made me cry, the movie trailer in 2009 made me cry (every time I saw it) - and yes, I cried when I watched the movie too. But it was good.
2. Current favorite song. Not artist. I want a SONG. Please be specific*
Ack - I'm way too fickle for this... I have music ADD so how about one of the most recent songs I downloaded? (Thank you Amazon) - Drop It Low by Ester Dean.
3. What was one of your favorite books of 2009? Who wrote it? (*same as #2)
One of my favorite books of 2009? :X I'm going with three. Relentless by Lauren Dane. Instant Gratification by Jill Shlvis. Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas. They're all different, and I loved them equally.
4. What's one of your favorite addictions? Twitter, iPhone, etc. I'd love to know *g*

by sula 9:34 AM, December 31, 2009My answers...
1. What movie that you've seen in the last year would you recommend?
Even though it came out before this year, I really enjoyed Slumdog Millionaire. It made me sit on the edge of my seat, laugh, cry, and had a happy ending despite all the bad stuff.
2. Current favorite song.
I don't listen to the radio and I am completely and utterly out of touch with current music. So anything I have to contribute is going to be eclectic, world music stuff. heh. Current fav song is probably N'Teri by Habib Koite on the album Afriki. You can hear a sample here.
3. What was one of your favorite books of 2009?
Hard to choose. I probably have to say Written on Your Skin by Meredith Duran. She really has been a great find of 2009.
4. What's one of your favorite addictions?
Surfing the internet on my little i-pod touch. Even though it takes twice as long to scroll, it's just so cute and handy.
1. My favorite movie: Hangover.

3. What was one of your favorite books of 2009? Who wrote it? (*same as #2)
I've got two :) Melusine by Sarah Monette and Heir to Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier. Both books were mind-blowingly good...I didn't want to put them down. It was so amazing to be so engrossed in a book, invested in the characters. I *heart* the two authors!

by Anonymous 3:38 AM, January 02, 20101. The movie that I've seen in the last year that I would undoubtedly recommend (with copious amounts of unashamed fangirling) would have to be Avatar. It has it all, story, characters, and jaw dropping gorgeous CG. It is an eye fest that cannot be missed!
